DIY and Family

11.2.14

These are my brothers and sisters at my wedding. Photography done by Joanna Davis Photography who is based out of Venice, FL. (Side note she did an amazing job!)
And these were my brother and sisters Thursday when they first saw I was there
They were so surprised...I love it! I normally surprise them because I fly stand by and font want to dissapoint them if I don't make it all the way to them. Normally pretty stressful but what (that is worth it) isn't?

So in preparation of our possible new home I took on a DIY project at my parents place. The bathroom was getting to be a bit, well disgusting. I say that in the nicest way possible. Between already having burn orange countertops that we never got around to changing and three kids under the age of 13 that share it lead to it being well beyond time for an updated change!! Plus I needed to test my home improvement DIY skills before doing my own home!
Taking off/ripping down the towel rails that were rusty, tacky chrome. One wouldn't ever stay up and the other I literally tore out of the wal!
The wall before ...
So the one bottle is the glue wasn't the smartest choice ...so here I am holding it up for a few minutes.
The wall is up along with two fun sayings and the old dusty fake plant is removed from the white bowl hanging.

Entry view two
New shower curtain to tie in the orange counters, wood owl with pattern and white background to bring the white trim to that blank space.
Emptied off the counters space and started trimming the large mirror with a white frame. Neutral longer rug to cover under both sinks.

So for a small budget, last minute and not getting too crazy on top of us all being sick not too bad and a nice simply change that can be managed by three kids under 13!

Tips mfir me for the future DIY projects and posts?? I'm new at least so any advice would be absorbed with great thanks. I do need to improve on my taking of photos and details of steps which hopefully I can focus on during my next DIY.

So long Florida! Back to the frigid cold of beautiful but possibly never being warm again Minnesota.

Surprise possibilities and endless opportunities

6.2.14

Today I am on my way to FL to surprise my siblings and some other family members!! Of course I am so excited to see them but I am also excited for te warm weather!!! It has been a royally brutal winter this year in Minnesota and I need a large dose of sun shine and warm weather!
Sneak peak above ^ oh the possibilities!

Ryan and I found our first home :) we are currently in the buying a home process and are due to close March 31!! Holy buckets-one minute we decide to just look when we can, no rush to putting in an offer on a just finished being flipped home that was for sale no longer than 2 hours!!! We are in for it, but no worries I have already created multiple Pinterest boards and have an on going list of Amazon idea we can do with/to our soon to be new home! Does anyone have any advice for first time home buyers? We can sure use it!

Heaps of awesome, fun and buddy DIYa to come your way! We are planning on doing all the work, updates and creating ourselves...I will be documenting all of our projects and posting them for anyone else that may just need a DIY to do.

March is going to be crazy for us...we leave for Europe for 8 days and then big sky montanana for another 8 days and then close on our home! What were we thinking....on top of all that I have decided to take a break from etsy things until we get settled into our new home....oh yeah! The best part about our new place is that I will have my very own craft room!!! Dun Dun Dun....does anyone have any thoughts or ideas of the direction I should be taking with my Etsy shop? Please feel free you give your opinions. I am just doing what I love to do and would love and always need some guidance in the more realistic path since I am not sure good with taking that path.

Here is an image of my latest work in progress...to be honest I have been slacking. I will finish it soon. I also have heaps of scarfs to finish :( man have I been slacking!

There are surprises & endless opportunities so live today so tomorrow doesn't matter.

The burning has stopped!

23.1.14

Good morning beautiful people!
Last picture of me with my glasses!! I don't take photos well...always do something dumb.

Yesterday I had my LASIK surgery done.... Lets just say that it was a very interesting experience & now I CAN SEE!!! I had my procedure done at Whiting Clinic  by Dr. Whiting. They are very welcoming there. Immediately making you feel welcomed, explaining everything that is happening and why along  with offering of beverages and they have this intense coffee/drink maker. Ryan was able to be there with me the entire time besides a few minutes before, during and a few minutes after my procedure. The produce took less than 7 minutes total (from getting me all ready to sitting me up). Once Dr. Whiting took a quick look at my eyes I was given these spiffy black shades to wear home along with when I sleep for the next week...

I was not nervous for the procedure but for what I was going to experience afterwards. For me, the worst part of the LASIK surgery was when they put the silver clamp down on your eye....everything else that happens you can not feel, it is just super bright. As I arrived home I immediately laid down to try and sleep before the only part that I was scared/nervous about kicked in....the burning! (I absolutely hate when my eyes burn)....Even with me taking the sedative they offer and two of my own the burning hit me hard and would wake me up. I would jerk awake from the burning sensation and was also extremely itchy! I am assuming the itchy part may be from me being warm and the medicine as I never take any form of medicines. Around 9:30 Ryan got me from the couch to the bed, I put the first dose of my 3 times of eye drops in put my spiffy black shades back on and slept great!

I can see now with a bit of a blur here and there. My check up is this morning so we will see if everything is healing well...most of the healing happens within 20 hours of your procedure. I am not looking forward to having to go outside though...too bad thy can't come here! It is -15 here today aka HELL! I want to be warm, in the sun with no wind!
Very deceiving out there..it is -15 sunny winter days worry me-sad:(

TheScribbledLink has not been forgotten either. I will be posting my newest abstract mountain painting and hopefully get the chance to stitch some of my new fun fabrics together so I can post scarfs as well. You can click here to see the newest mountain painting: Abstract Tribal Mountains
This is not the finish product, please click the link to see the final and completed painting.

Happy Thursday Everyone! Stay warm if you are somewhere like me in the frigid cold and if you are someone warm- share please.
